Day 3 of Hunger Strike

       The Hunger Strike of Youth For Equality at the MAMC entered its 3^rd day today. Striking doctors and students are sitting on hunger strike since 50 hours till the press release is written. Significant developments are happening. The deaf government is now waking up. The Health Secretary, Ministry of Health, Government of Delhi visited the hunger strike site and strangely consented with the grievance of the striking students and at the same time requested them to end the hunger strike. The striking students asked the health secretary not to waste his time and refused to end the strike.

          IMA representatives visited MAMC today to raise the moral of the students and offered all possible cooperation. DMA followed the IMA to show solidarity. The interns of UCMS and MAMC joined the strike. JNU also joined the hunger strike. Today in the AIIMS GBM decision has been taken to join the hunger strike from today.

We demand:

1. Rollback reservations based on caste.

2. Time based implementation of Right to Education Act which guarantees free, compulsory and quality education, a fundamental right of every child.

3. Clarification, by the SUPREME COURT collegium, regarding the act and observation made by the honorable Chief Justice on 16^th May 08.
