BEWARE OF PEOPLE WHO WANT TO DIVIDE US: Kumar Harsh

It is very tricky situation for the Marathas where their leader has decided to write the story of their downfall. Yes, of course Raj Thakre is not the only leader of Maratha community, but its also true that the ugly face of Marathas which has come to fore in recent time is planned and presented in the leadership of Raj Thakre only. Acts of attack on students from Bihar, forcing people to give up speaking in Hindi and ultimatum to remove boards and hordings in Hindi is in contradiction to the rich Martha culture of tolerance and respect for all religion and community. Its dishonour to ancestors of the land.
If people of Maharastra keep on attacking so called Poorvanchalis they will be the ultimate looser. They will have only one state to live and others will have the whole country but the Maharastra. This was the reason Shivaji and his heirs tried their utmost to unite the whole country and not just the Maratha land. Even the inimical critic of Shivaji, Khafi Khan was impressed by his tolerance. Khan writes, ‘Shivaji had tolerant attitude towards other religions as well as in his fair and kind treatment of woman and non combatants.’ What Raj is teaching the Marathas is supposed to fulfill his political will and not the good of the common Marathas and aspiration and dream of their great ancestors who gave them the reason to be respected in the society.
Raj is trying to do the same to the people of Maharastra what had happened to the Muslim community in India around one century back and what very recently Leaders had done to the mass of Bihar; the stagnation. If one community cuts itself off from the other community and starts thinking that they can survive alone, take their gradual weakening and extinction for granted. In above two examples Muslims and a section of people in Bihar were made to believe that they were good in whatsoever state and need not to get education and a part of development. They were blinded by their leaders. If people of Maharastra don’t understand the ploy right now they will be doomed to backwardness.
Had not there be a Poorvanchali Shivaji will not be able to be coroneted. When fanatic Brahmins of those times had refused to coronate Shivaji on the ground that he did not belong to Kshtriya clan, Shiviji brought Gang Bhatt of Varanasi to establish his lineage with the sisodias (rajpoots) of Rajsthan and testify his being Kshatriya. Sanskrit scholars were well respected and patronaged by Shahaji (father of Shivaji) and his decedents. Shahaji had supported Jayram pandye. Serfoji II from the Tanjavur branch coutinued by printing the first Marathis book in Devnagari script. Only because they knew that if they want to give and take good things from other culture it was a tool for them. If Maratha mass doesn’t know Hindi they will be limited to Maratha land only, they will be deprived from the benefits of the progress and opportunity in the country. That’s what this Maratha leader wants to handicap people at intellectual level to rule them for a long time. So its an appeal to the traditionally rich Maratha community to not to be a hand in digging their own grave.
