Aur Harsh Chala Gaya

On 26th September 2010, Youth for equality, Jawaharlal Nehru University, organised a health camp in the memory of Late Dr. Kumar Harsh. He was one of the founding members of the YFE movement. Dr. Harsh envisaged the dream of caste less society in India and was a sharp critic of the present form of vote bank based retrogressive reservation policy of government. An MD in Radiotherapy from AIIMS, New Delhi presided over the RDA AIIMS from 2006-2008, met a fatal accident on 13th April, 2010, while he was out of India for some academic work. In his short life span, he left no stone unturned for the betterment of India and travelled across the length and breadth of India to serve the cancer patients. His philanthropic nature came in light when he served people of the Bihar day and night during the Kosi flood.
The health camp in JNU on September 26th, 2010 was preceded by a book release on his life entitled “Aur Harsh Chala Gaya¶ in the presence of various senior doctors of the AIIMS, Faculty Members of JNU and students of all hues. Dr. Hiralal Saha, author of the book spoke at length on the vision of Dr. Harsh. He regarded present caste based reservation policy as divisive and said that the true development of this country can’t be achieved by such badly crafted policies. In the attempt of YFE to pay its floral tribute to its visionary leader, many medical specialists served more than 200 patients in JNU campus. The book on Harsh “Aur Harsh Chala Gaya¶ is in Hindi.
