YFEians start hunger strike in Delhi

This is to inform all the socially conscious people that we, YOUTH FOR EQUALITY, are back with the same objective of a reservation free INDIA. We are fighting against all the caste based politics/policies that we know have implications that can divide INDIA and send us back into the DARK AGES. The recent past of war between Gujjar and Meena is testimony of the destructive power that caste based policies implicate … It is ironical that in a developing and progressive nation like ours, people are degrading their community and fighting to become more backward than others.

Its indeed ridiculous that in a country where the Act  which guarantees free, compulsory and quality education, a fundamental right of every child, is yet to be implemented, and the government is moving on ahead with implementation of  reservation in higher education, i.e. ‘top without base’

Students of the medical colleges of Delhi have decided to boycott their classes and exams, and more than a 100 students have started on a continuous hunger strike from the morning of   22^nd May,in the library lawns of Maulana Azad Medical college.Our  objectives are  loud and clear

1. Rollback of reservations based on caste.

2. Implementation of Right to Education Act which guarantees free, compulsory and quality education, a fundamental right of every child.

3. Clarification, by the SUPREME COURT collegium, regarding the recent observation made by the honorable Chief Justice, regarding Creamy Layer –class concept/individual concept
